Indian Cancer Society places great emphasis on educating people about cancer as a disease, its causes and preventive measures etc. The intention is to educate people to lead the way of life which could, as far as possible, mitigate the occurrence of cancer. Also, if people learn to recognize the early warning signals, they will go for cancer check up and treatment before it is too late. With this in view, the Society holds cancer awareness talks at schools, colleges, Rotary and Lions clubs and at sites of social and welfare organizations, when requested. Trained volunteers deliver these talks supported by video cassettes and hold question and answer session. Literature on cancer is also distributed on such occasions, free of cost. No charges are levied for arranging such talks.
